Our work group got together with contractors that we also work with and visited the Science and Space Center in Colorado. While there, we each took "roles" in taking off, working in space, and re-entering the earth's orbit, while dealing with critical issues that came along. This was a creative way to get people to work together in a different environment, which continued to work well once everyone returned to work in the normal work environment. Bottomline, think outside the box and give them something to accomplish, learning to work together in teams. Yes, this was a half day "away" from the office and paid by the company, but it was money well spent.
Move your business to China.They are excellent employees. Work for a lot less money and are happy because they are impoverished and any job is better than no job.
I suggest meetings every week or once a month, and interaction during that meeting, make them feel appreciated for what they do and let them know how important they are for the company's production and sucess...I'll bet you that will make them feel great! and that's how it should be:-))
