I'm a Spanish tutor. How can I help my students memorize information?

Question:I've been a Spanish tutor for almost two years now. I always encourage my students to study everything as thoroughly as possible, but some of them complain that they can't remember the information they read in the text. Is there any way I can help them better memorize the information?

Answers:
Repetition is the best way to memorize anything. Have your students read the information, then read it again with a highlighter to note important sections. Then have them either outline the text or write down the main ideas of the sections. When you meet with them, review the text again and ask them to put things in their own words. Hopefully that helps!
Try Flashcards. This always seems to work for me when Im having trouble remembering something for school.
You could use the idea from "Major League" and remove a piece of clothing every time they got a question right.that would keep the boys fixated on learning, but you may end up in prison. Hope I helped.
For numbers and things, do Bingo. We did that in my old Spanish class, and it worked pretty well. Also, encourage them to go to their houses and instead of saying "the table" say "la mesa". Or listen to a conversation in English, and then try to translate it into Spanish. Just getting them to use Spanish in their lives really helps.
