No, I think they're there to do their job and teach as best they can. True, some are terrible at it. Now subsitute teachers, there you have some people with issues (usually). I remember in high school every time we had a sub, chaos would erupt and the sub would join in. More like they wanted to be a friend than a teacher.
That could be a part of it. It is really fun to see someone learn something new. To see them finally catch on and go aha! And to guide them to the next step so they can move on. When you get someone to learn you help increase their confidence and self esteem as well. It feels good to do all these things.
No. I've worked as a school psychologist and most teachers that I met were there to help students learn and develop as people.
I think some of them are. I was a subsitute teacher and I found many are like cops. They want to help people, but they are on power trips and like to be an authority figure. There are great teachers and cops, but a small percentage are power hungry nutjobs.
Well, you are right when you said we like school. Kids are full of energy, they are fun, and they give us the opportunity to be part of their lifes. If you are a good teacher you have great moments with them. Personally I forget any problem when I arrive my class.
I think it's because they either liked learning when they were a kid and were good at it or they liked kids and didn't want to be a nanny.
The mean teachers are just there to torture kids and ruin there lives!
