Year round or traditional?

Question:i am in traditional. but is year round better?

Answers:
I don't think one is better or worse that the other. It depends more upon how you like to work and what works best for you. Fortunately, most of us are very flexible and adaptable and can do quite well with either system.
I think traditional would be better because you have more time in the summer.
I prefer the idea of year round. You still get the same number of days off of school, just in shorter spurts. Seems like that would definitely reduce the burnout for both students and teachers. And there is still six weeks off in the summer so there's tons of time to do stuff without kids getting bored and parents running out of ideas.
Year round is better for us, because we like to take time off during the year at regular intervals.
Year round also provides you with a better sense of how life works; children should not be made to believe that learning is confined to X amount of days during the year, and since not to many jobs will give you the whole summer off it would benefit them to know this early on in life.
It seems to me with the amount of time that is spent at the beginning of each school year getting down procedures then reviewing all the things that were taught the previous year, you would be better off with shorter breaks and a year round schedule. The students wouldn't lose so much information with the long break. The entire summer off schedule was started because all the students used to have to be with their families doing farm work and such. We aren't living in that type of world any more. Our kids need as much education as possible and they are losing valuable time with a traditional schedule.
