Answers:
one thing a friend of mine does (teacher) is she has a store for the kids to purchase things...they earn credits in the store for their learning...you can adjust it any way...but apparently it does work...some of the stuff is homemade stuff she has or things donated to her...
One can appreciate a student in front of class or just have discussion with children, atleast once a week.Give star and give good remark in the note books, you check.
Ask them to do things which interest them alot but in regards to their studies.Like making them take classes for their peers in a manner which they think they can relate to(in the form of a debate, puzzles, presentations) and you observing them.In case the information they provide to the class is not complete you can interrupt and help them continue take the class. I am sure this will kindle some interest within them.
first of all, don't be a teacher. be friendly with your students. don't get angry often. if they do any mischief in the class, advice them softly and kindly. while teaching lessons, tell them short stories concerned to the subject you teach. then you know, your students will like to listen to your teachings and they will study well.
Make the assignments interesting, not too long or too short.

Present the studying in a different way. For example review may be a Jeopardy game with pertinent questions.

Dependent upon the age level and maturity of the students ask them to write the test questions. Use a few of them in the test and give some type of reward for the best ones.
As a student I never really knew how to study and I think that's the biggest problem. I always thought studying was just doing your homework but then we had a seminar which explained how to study and what is study. I think a lot of kids don't know how to study so I think explaining it is a start.

I was also taught about the different learning styles eg. auditory, visual and kinesthetic. I think this was the best thing that helped me study. Once you know what type of learner you are then you can figure out a way to study that works for you.

As for making study 'fun', that's hard. I don't think study is fun but by using the above it helps me remember my work and it makes it bearable. If it works for you then it's not fun but it's not boring either.
first of all, be acceptable to your students. This will happen if you are friendly and versed in your teaching area.

secondly, you have to make your teaching very interesting and easy to understand by the students they'll always like to be around you and make themselves always available for your classes

Thirdly, use 80:20 to explain the importance of education to them. It depends on their age anyway. Let them know that 80% uneducated people eat 20% food available for 100 people while 20% educated elite eat 80% food available. Ask them which class they wish to belong thereafter.

Do simple test that all will pass for them and systematically proceed to a higher level, taking them from known to the unknown.

Goodluck
1) Enthusiasm comes & cannot be injected-pl. remember this ever-after.
2) Every mind is different & hence there can't be a single tool.
3) Encourage ur student in a particular subject by removing exam fear, give small project work, draw rather than write.
4) Give recognisation to their work.I will give a recent experience of my own. All students were asked to prepare something for bulletin board of the school for 15th August-India's independance day. Believe me, we got a heap of innovative presentations which I could not even imagine. it proved much much more interesting than essay writing.
5) But do remember, every body is not equally interested in all subjects so don't force every one to do in all subjects.
6) Present your lecture in an enjoyable way with ajoke here & there
7) While teaching, don't pose as if u know everything.
8) While teaching, make the topic interesting by adding non-text book examples.
just be a good heart person not teacher! look it will help u out!
