Process To Be LAUSD Substitute Teacher?

Question:What is the process to become a substitute teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District? I am not a certified teacher. I just don't know where to start. What are the steps that you need to take?

Answers:
I teach in Los Angeles. Substitute hires need to have a credential. HOWEVER in times or areas of need they will hire subs without credentials. I do not know who they are hiring now, nor do I know the need. They do have a recruitment office, you simply have to ca'l down to see.

first priority are fully credentialed. but as you can see if you dont have one, you'll need a BA, and the cbest. they then interview you and do your backround check.. takes 6-8 weeks. so get started now! call, and find out when and where the cbest can be taken.here is the web page for that:
