To all Ontario Canada teachers out there...?

Question:My father asked for my Social Insurance Number today. He said that it was for something to do with his pension. What could he possibly use it for on his pension? If not, why would he need it?

Answers:
I am not an Ontario teacher, but I am Canadian. It is possible that your father may need the number if he is declaring you as a dependent for something to do with income tax or something like that. Possibly having a dependent may increase the amount of his pension. But if you are uncertain ask him for the specifics.
