I usually use the one that it included in the front of my lesson planning or grading books.
I am not sure if this idea would work, but if you have Excel or any kind of spreadsheet already installed you can create a seating chart.
Use Column A for the first row, Column B for the second row and so on.
But if this all fails, draw out boxes on a sheet of paper...that is what I have had to do once.
I would just create a table in Word...you shouldn't need a special program to make a seating chart. It would take you longer to download the program.
