Probably she gets mad because that is a generalization and probably not even close to accurate. Teachers, like everyone, have a range of opinions and points of view. Most teachers are middle of the road on most things. But from certain points of view that is liberal, and from other points of view that is conservative. It is common now to label teachers, and professors, as liberal but the research on their politics, and religion is interesting. They are middle of the road generally, and tend, as a group, to be more religious, and more religiously active.
Also, there is a direct relationship between being educated and being more liberal, which is probably about having a larger world view.
My question to you would be "What is it about the teachers that to you makes them seem liberal?"
