Where in Canada, are teachers needed the most?

Question:ps. i'd prefer to end up teaching in somewhere like Nelson, Old Quebec, or Montreal.

Answers:
Well, you'll only get work teaching in Quebec City if you speak French. You may be able to get something in Montreal...I don't know what demand is like in Montreal.

What level do you teach? I have friends who are teachers in Ontario. One teaches Math and English at the high school level, and has been on the TOC list for a while. Three others teach elementary French Immersion and got hired right out of school.

I live in Vancouver and I teach French Immersion. There is a huge demand for French teachers here, and if you can teach French, you can pretty much write your own ticket. At the high school level, Math and Science are also in high demand. I believe that Computer Science is too. However, you will find it difficult finding work if you teach English, Socials, or PE at the high school level.

I don't know what demand is like up in the interior of BC, but I believe that if you are willing to go further north, there is more need for teachers.

Good luck!
In my opinion, it's not "where" teachers are needed the most -- but "what" you are teaching. teachers who teach foreign languages -- like arabic, german, russian, are in high demand in north america. what exactly are you teaching?
