How much would i rate the foreigners who asking for my services as an English tutor?

Question:i will appreciate any valuable information regarding this. mostly foreigners want to learn grammar. modesty aside, i have so much to share...english being my "major" subject eversince. i would love to earn a modest and reasonable amount. although money is not the most important thing in the world, it would be best to charge a suitable amount :-) many thanks and wish me MANY students in the future.

Answers:
How much to charge? To be honest with you, it really depends on a couple of factors. For example, what credentials you have. Also, it depends on the area you are located in. If it's in a bigger city then you can charge higher rates since there will be more people who require tutoring services (the old supply and demand theory!). If you live in a more affluent neighborhood, you could also charge more.

You must realise that as an in-person tutor, you can charge a substantial rate but you are restricted to a specific area - smaller market of potential students. If you tutor online, the rate is lower but you can have more students. Think outside the box! Try online tutoring. Then you can have a worldwide market of potential students. Try sites like:
http://www.tuitionplaza.com/tutoring/...
www.tutor.com
... many other sites (use search engine)
$20 an hour for an individual

$10 per individual for small group instruction
If you have a degree in Education or in English you can charge a lot more than you could without that credential. Depending on your area, you can probably charge about $45-$75 per hour per pupil (cut them a deal if there are a few people there).

I tutor middle school English to native speakers & make $55 an hour (I am also a middle school English teacher).
