What are some of the things to remember when preparing power point slides for an oral presentation?

Question:

Answers:
Do NOT put on the slides what you are planning to say and then just read the slides as your presentation. This insults your audience and is BORING. The slides should SUPPLEMENT what you say, not repeat it.

I gave a PPT to 60 people last week, for me the best option is to use the notes facility in the slide set up. You can leave yourself reminders making it easy to run throught the content on each slide. Don't worry the notes are not visible to the people viewing the presentation.
Only put your main points on it.

Keep everything simple and flowing.

Use notes facility to know exactly what you are saying.

Have printouts of each slides so you know what you are saying coincides with what the PowerPoint says.
Always throw something in every once in awhile to grab their attention such as a video or joke. It keeps them interested. It also helps to have other visual aids beside Power Points. I honestly hate the whole power point concept but it's becoming the new trend among teaching. I think it's just another way to put kids to sleep.
