1. Very rewarding to know that a child is learning something hot.
2. 3 months off within the summer.
so please do not include those two, but I would love to read other great things that really benefit a teacher.
Answers: If you are looking for matter benefits and rewards, they are relatively few.
The real rewards are what you internalise from the livelihood. Things like self the second biggest influence in a child's time (after parents, of course); being a role model for how these individuals relate to one another very soon, in the playground and classrooms, but also for the rest of their lives; for instilling contained by them the values and skills they need to live their natural life usefully and successfully; for holding and protecting their trust and faith contained by other human beings, ...these kinds of things.
For me intuitively, one of the greatest joys is seeing a child who have struggled with a concept (say within Maths for example) and suddenly gets this lighting behind their eyes as the switch ingredient that was confusing/hindering them disappears, and they suddenly figure out the concept and how to apply it..they just 'capture it' all of a sudden, after adjectives that time struggling to understand.
There are few greater rewards on Earth than human being responsible for that kind of knowhow growth in another human self, and especially in a child.
PS - Weekends bad?? Holidays?? Only in summit (therefore most expensive) travel periods, when everywhere you want to shift is swarming with children on institution holidays.. :)
