Highschool Teachers: What are you looking forwhen you award kids with awards, reccomendations, honors, etc.?

Question:I am going into 9th grade and would like to make an impression...

Answers:
When considering a student for an award I look at the student's attitude, their interest in the subject area, their curiosity, their cooperation. I award students who have a genuine desire to learn, not the ones who just want to make the grade.
