how can singing helps children in their reading?

Answers:
because singing songs like twinkle twinkle little star, itsy bitsy spider, patty cake and like that are interactive songs and they are learning words and actions at the same time. singing is reading but set to music. Playing with your children like that helps them in more ways than you could possibly imagine. helps brain development to name one.
i dont think it can It can be beneficial in making a person want to learn how to read, especially children, and how to read well. Singing is a marvelous way to express one's inner thoughts. God Bless. Many children are fearful of hearing their own voice when they read. Singing helps them listen to the sound of their own voice and thus gives them confidence as they listen to the sound of their voice when they are reading. I do not know about singing but reading interesting stories does.

Read them till they are hooked and then insist that they read the rest of it themselves.

Obviously a child's age will determine what you expect them to do, eg. if they are learning the alphabets, it should be enough for them to recognise a few alphabets in the storybook before you continue reading to them the rest of the story and if they know how to read, then they should be expected to finish the story themselves. donno
