I am not a teacher, but I had your position in a school last year. What ever you do, try and be there everyday, I know people get sick and there are emergency, but miss as little time as possible. Children need routine, they need to know that you will be there for them. I work with special education children and they need routine. When they get off the bus they know where I was and usually came right to me. Also you need to be patience with the child, it doesn't help anyone to lose your temper, you might end up losing your job. That is all I can think of for now. Good luck.
