I got my teaching credential at National University (www.nu.edu). I was very happy with the experience. Their courses are formatted to last just four weeks with one course each term. That meant I did seven months of courses online and five months of student teaching and got my credential in one year. At the time (5 years ago,) it was the cheapest option because NU is a non profit school unlike the University of Phoenix.
The other online program that I've heard good things about is Western Governor's University (www.wgu.edu). WGU is a quasi-public school and is even cheaper than National. The WGU model is based on "competency". So it's not so much that you "finish a class" as you "master a skill." You pay for a six month block at a time and accomplish as much as you can in that six months. They say that it takes 6-12 months to get your credential, but it can actually take longer if you're not motivated. They charge $3500 for each six month block, which is a really good deal. Make sure that they are licensed to provide a credential for your state and that they have a student teaching supervisor (which is different from the classroom based mentor teacher) in your area.
Good luck.
