Bottom line for me is that we are here and we should do the best that we can with whatever choices we make, the roads we travel and the experiences we are given. There hasn't been any one who has died and come back to tell us all about it, so we won't know until we go there ourselves.
I propose that each person should accept whatever level of responsibility that is equal to the tasks of working out ones own salvation with fear and trembling throughout ones lifetime. I don't really believe that life is for us. I do believe it is for God because he is that great and he loves us that much. Our purpose of life is to serve him. It is only fair that we love him back too. For all that he has done for us, I think that it is worth it. I think you were right, luck does not exist, its just a saying.
