Principals...what do you look for in cover letters form new teachers?

Question:I am student teaching all year in a 3rd grade classroom and I'm currently adding to my resume. Although I believe my resume stands out, I am not so familiar with the cover letter. What do you look for when you read cover letters and what makes some stand out above the others?

I am impressed when a candidate knows about our particular school, its needs and mission, and is able to offer specific qualities that fit our specific needs.
Well, to start with, correct spelling never hurts.
