What is the easiest and effective way to learn multiplication table?

Question:

Answers:
Lots and lots of repetition.

When the student/child begins really remembering the times tables, it's fun to show all the ones that are known. For example 7 x 8 is the same as 8 X 7. Usually the 7's are easy to learn, as are the 2's, 5's and 10's. 9's are fun because there are some interesting things going on with them.

When you get down to the nitty gritty, it's usually 6 x 6, 6 x 7, 6 x 8, 7 x 8, and 8 x 8 that are left as the "hard" ones.

When you break them down into easy, a bit harder, and hardest and then just show how many are the real hard ones, it doesn't seem like such a formidable task
flashcards and lots and lots of repetition (practice makes perfect!)
I too learned with flashcards. If you are a teacher, have the students play on teams and have little prizes such as candy or something else for them to do or have. Maybe even if it is just some free time in class. When I was younger my grandmother made flash cards for me and we used them every time I was with her. In school the teacher used the flash cards and a timer so that we would get faster.
