Answers:
Be yourself.
Answer the questions honestly. If they ask about whether you like something and you don't, say you don't. If you say you do, people will expect you to do it while you are employed there.
Don't ramble! I hate it when I am part of an interview committee and the canditates start rambling because they are nervous. They always get lost and then the answer doesn't make any sense. Take a minute to think about the answer before you say anything. A well thought out answer is much more important than a quick answer that doesn't make any sense.
Wear appropriate clothing. We had a candidate come to an interview for a teaching position in shorts and a T-shirt. If you are interviewing for a lifeguard position that might be appropriate but it was a bit insulting for a teaching position. It really says, "I don't care about the job you are offering."
Should not - flirt and come on to the interviewer
Should - be professional
Duh!!
Make good eye contact.
Maintain good posture/body language.
Remain calm (if possible).
Make sure there aren't any typos in your cover letter and resume!
Don't chew gum!
Don't get too chatty!
Don't use poor language (cuss words)!
Wear dark blue (not sure why but I read somewhere that wearing dark blue to a job interview gives you higher odds of being hired. I've always worn it and I've never been turned down for a job. Maybe it's just coincidence, but worth a shot!)
When you get there Smile and shake hands firmly...Look up dont look down alot...Try not to say Um alot because that could say that you are a bit unfocused or unprepaired...(i just got a job so im thinking about what i did) Be very truthful...take your time let them know about your creativity or activities and what not.
Be prepared. Research the type of questions that might be asked and have answers ready. Don't ramble on and on. Give clear and concise answers to each question. Dress appropriately, a good rule is to be a bit over dressed for the position. Have an extra copy of your resume with you. Look the interviewer in the eye but don't stare. It's ok to look away momentarily while gathering your thoughts.
Remain cool, calm and relaxed all the time, and try not to get provoked.
Be casual and confident. Watch out for anything and everything. Know the answer for the question, " Describe yourself" and " What makes you think you're the one for this job?". Those are the FAQ's nowadays. Dress neatly. Tht's wat my well-off seniors advised me.
Remember that if you are interviewing the "nobodies" in the office and the people in the hall have a big impact on your chances. Always be helpful, hold doors, etc for people when you are going in and out of a building. Also remember to smile and relax. Try to talk slowly and if you need time to think of an answer, say so. I have always found that it is best to be honest and be yourself. Have a couple of questions to ask the people interviewing you.
