It is lip-synching or lip-syncing. This is a contraction of lip-synchronizing.
I remember the technique being relatively new on the nationally broadcast Dick Clark American Bandstand TV show in 1960. A lot of rock 'n' roll singers at that time published recordings that were so manipulated that it covered up the fact that they actually could not sing very well (not much different from pop singers today). All TV was live at that time. Rather than sing, terribly, on the show, they just pretended to be singing the pre-recorded song. Some could do it better than others.
