How do you look up a person who died in the 1940's...?

Question:We already went to the museum and checked the obittuaries. They lived here for a short time, so the rest of her family didn't die in this town.

Sweet Pea go to ancestry.com and you can find out anything you want to know about anybody alive or dead. This site is awesome I promise you will find what you need!
A historical figure or a normal person? If it's a historical figure use wikipedia.org . If it's a normal person check with the state records or something.
Try Ancestry.com
Check Social Security Death Records.
If you know when exactly and where the person died, try the social security death index. You can find it at www.rootsweb.com; www.cyndislist.com; www.ancestry.com; and www.familsearch.org--to name a few. It will give their date of birth/death; where their ssn was issued; and their last known residence.
