Robins are just sparrows that paint their chests red at Christmas to look festive and hopefully win a few ginger bread crumbs.

The robin is a British resident, and stays here all the year around. They are very Territorial and do not like other birds on their `patch`. I have a huge garden and have several pairs of permanent resident robins. Only the male has a red breast.
