well, i believe 11% of the world population is left handed, but im not sure about the u.s.
Nobody has a definitive answer, because it isn't usually recorded anywhere permanent (i.e., birth certificate (there are ways to tell, that early!), school records, driver's license, passport, hospital records, etc).
