What are your opinions about the mystery of Mary Celeste?

Question:Mary Celeste was a ship, yeah, when the captain of the Del Gratia found her, there was no one inside. She sailed across the Atlantic on her own.
What happened to the crew? Please tell me your speculations..
Thank you!

Answers:
Some unknown calamity occurred, which prompted the captain to abandon ship, along with the entire crew and his wife and child. The single lifeboat was inadequate to hold a dozen people, and the food and water in the lifeboat were insufficient to sustain them until they were safely beached somewhere. They probably were all dead before the tides caught up the lifeboat and carried it further out to sea, where it may have eventually met some final catastrophe which could have caused it to sink with all on board, living or dead.
What did not happen was alien abduction, sea monster dining, or any other such ludicrous circumstance. All we really know is that there really was a Marie Celeste, and that it was recovered, though damaged, with no one on board, and no one was ever found who had been on board. Simply, lost at sea. You must remember that this occurred at least 130 years ago. Some time had to have elapsed between the abandonment and the discovery of the empty ship, more before the ship was returned to shore, and more before the inquiry was completed, using, of course, technology of that day, nothing like that available today. So it is indeed a mystery, but not as much a mystery as some would make it.
I think the Ship was abandoned. They were possibly thrown over board.

Friends, let us all dear friends gather around this campfire and answer, NeedHelp? with his wondering question about Mary Celeste, who dissapeared mysteriously. Let us all hear your speculations.

Thank you,
and God Bless You, child.
Umm, mabye they discovered the cargo was about to explode and adbonded ship, but who knows!
I think they went swimming. It was common for ships crews to do that and the sea was calm and the weather good that day. The last person would have had to lower the ladder. If the last person off did not do that, the ship would have drifted and the people had no way to get back on board.
It was known to have happened before and many people at the time thought that was a probable cause.
