The latest information I have is about the Columbine murders in Littleton, Colorado. They took place at a high school, and 14 students were killed (2 being the young gunmen), one teacher, and twenty-three students wounded on April 20, 1999.
The gunmen meant to kill 500 and blow up that school. There have been more school shootings since, none quite as deadly that I recall now.
I would have to say either Zodiac because he was never caught and really gripped half the state of California in terror...or Ted Bundy since his reign covered three states, he escaped to kill again, was recaptured and then defended himself before finally admitting to it. Good old Ted is textbook!
