Who came first. the egg or the chicken(hen)?

Question:just a DILEMA !?

Answers:
Dinosaurs laid eggs. And many other oviparous (egg reproducing) creatures have been around longer than the chicken.

The EGG came first!
the chicken
well the bible said "god made all the foul of the earth" and I'm thinking it means he made the chicken and hen so they could procreate
THE CHICKEN CUMS FIRST THEN THE EGG
Both,,,the chick was in the egg,,,,,,
the egg, as god had to make the egg first so it could hatch into the chicken, in theory, i think!
i imagine the chicken was the first to protect the egg!(is not nice?)
chiken doner kebab+ scrambled eggs
the ideal combination that repelled dinosaurs ages ago and ensured survival of poultry
lol
The egg came first.
the chicken...duh! God created the chicken and then comes the egg
an egg has to be incubated, so without his mama he's not coming out.
both roosters hen came with some eggs
Chicken!
because god created the ANIMALS first! before they could reproduce
God's pattern of creation has been evolution.

Chickens did not exist billions of years ago, but dinosaurs and reptiles did. Dinosaurs and reptiles lay eggs, and they certainly existed before chickens. Hell, even the dodo existed before chickens.

The egg came first.
Can you tell the start and end point in a circle?? likewise how can you say which came first ?? a chicken lays an egg and that egg becomes a chicken and then the chicken lays another egg...
the egg, without a chicken, there is no egg..
ask the old rooster he will know
If you are a believer, then It would be the chicken. God created all animals, he didn't just put eggs all ove rhte place, haha.

If you AREN'T a believer, the answer is a bit more complicated. Since a chicken came into being at some point and hasn't been in existence forever, I don't think you can say the usual philosophy on this type of question, which is that a circle has no beginning. What you CAN say, if you think about it, is that the egg came first, due to logical circumstances. Evolution takes a long time to happen, so each individual creature would not live long enough to evolve itself. By saying this, you can conclude that whatever creature dies is the same creature as it was when it was hatched. As some earlier species began changing and mixing with other similar species, new, slightly different offspring were made and were inside the layed eggs. With all of this understood, you can say that the first chicken came from the egg layed by two other creatures very similar to the chicken but not exactly LIKE the chicken that they layed.

THAT is how the chicken, or shall I say, the EGG came to be. XD
first animals and birds were created by God.
egg, obviously! i mean, where does the chicken come from? it isn't born live! and like the others said...dinosaurs came before the chicken, and they had eggs, however, im not saying that the chicken came from a dinosaur.
You didn't specify thatt the "egg" had to be a "chicken egg" so imma say that the "egg came first because fish had been laying eggs long before chickens were around." It could have been laid by something else and metamorphous into what is known as a chicken...because long ago chicken didn't exist at all. i dunno but i know the egg had to come first!!!!
A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the
headboard smoking a cigarette, with a satisfied smile on its face. The egg,
looking a bit pissed off, grabs the sheet, rolls over, and says, "Well, I
guess we finally answered THAT question..

If anyone needs it explained - read it a second time
I came across Discover Magazine's answer a few days back.

First came the egg.

Premise: an individual creature cannot evolve/mutate it's DNA in its whole lifespan. That is, a "quasi-chicken" could not have evolved into a chicken while it was still living.

The unique genetic code for the "true" chicken could only have come from the combined DNA's of both the quasi-chicken and the "other" parent. The "other" parent's DNA could have tipped the evolutionary scales. Hence the first true chicken was an egg.
I think the chicken came first just like Adam and eve then came the egg
Many have brought up the point that a creature cannot evolve itself. This is irrelevant; an egg is identified by the creature that laid it, not the creature that hatches from it. So, an egg that hatches a chicken would not necessarily be a 'chicken' egg; it would still be considered to belong to the quasi-chicken that laid it.
the chicken as it evolved from another species and then laid an egg making another chicken lol! therefore if looking at it in evolution terms the chicken came first
the egg.
okay lets keep it simple- there are 2 possibilities:
if you believe in god then the chicken came first as god created it.
if you believe in evolution then the egg came first as a creature evolved into the chicken
egg
It must be chicken cos the egg must be fertilised by a male to yield a chicken and the female must already exist. Heck I don't know.maybe chickens are all immortal.they even have a 'Robot Chicken' on t.v. now..which has nothing to do with robots or chickens, the casuistry of chickens and other tasty fowl is alogical and refractive to reason.
