What is this?

Question:My Father gave my brother a medal/badge type thing that belonged to his Father. It has James Webb 11th November 1925 and Whitaker Smith Lodge with the letters RABO intertwined on it on a four-pointed star with a crown on the top and above that the head of a buffalo! Any ideas what this could be? Masonic? I would be very interested to hear if anyone can shed any light on this for me. Thank you.

Answers:
R.A.O.B stands for Royal Antedeluvian Order Of Buffaloes. It is a semi secret society like the masons...The Whittaker Smith Lodge was based in a Pub called "The Falcon"in Enfield Middlesex off Brimsdown Road...When I was attending, they moved to "The Golden Hive " pub in Green Street but at some time about 10 years ago they moved back to "The Falcon"
added on 24/7/2007 sorry I forgot to say that there are 2 divisions of the RAOB in Britain. The 1st is G.L.E (Grand Lodge of England) and the 2nd is G.E.B (Grand Executive Banner)...The Whittaker Smith Lodge belongs to the G.E.B...You Father should also have had 2 or 3 certificates as well....Hope this is all you need
Are the engraved letters RABO or RAOB? If the second then it's likely to have something to do with the Royal and Ancient Order of Buffalos. More if you want it..
It sounds more like it's from the RAOB - the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes.
It is not masonic --- it is just buffalo lodge---- check it out online!!
