theres really no exact way to tell...the tongue strokes are different each time and people tend to suck on the things so it doesnt really count the same for everyone.

If you really tried to lick the thing to death the stick gets all messy as the paper starts to untwist, the stick develops a kink and you end up biting the darn thing. Very satisfying.
1. I am mad at whoever ran the scientific experiments to answer this question. How do they range from 100 to the thousands?
