I believe, without looking at a dictionary, that it is the training/teaching of children, of discipline and teaching them how to use their instincts and rondom energy in a more foccused directive and creative ways. To fit into their enviroment consider of others and able to survive indipendantly so that they can be valuable members of society, and be responsible. The work of parents, teachers, and other members of society!
