It saddens me that we appear to be a nation of morons.
I'm certain these things are taught in schools, but so many choose not to care...
Any comments?

I agree. We are a nation of morons. The only upside is that people such as you and I appear to be that much more intelligent when compared to the idiots in the general population. I suppose we should enjoy it instead of complaining about it.
It's to hard too understand.
There all to dumb too understand they're problem.
Gee, that was difficult to write.
I must say it's getting on for 11pm here and I've been up since 4.30am so if I do make a mistake I think I can be forgiven. I hope so anyway.
People are just careless. As far as typing goes, I generally like to type well. I feel like it expresses some degree of intelligence.
Lots of people don't care about this at all, which I agree...is a shame.
Yes, it is taught in school. You also have to remember that some people really do have trouble with those sorts of things their entire lives. It's just how they are, really. It doesn't make them stupid. Not wanting to fix it is what makes you stupid. :)
I agree totally. That is one of my pet peeves--people who use these incorrectly and don't care that they did.
Well, we all have our pet peeves. Personally, that has not been my experience...I haven't encountered a lot of people who fail to understand the differences.
But, as I said, some things tend to bother the individual. Here is something that perturbs me- do you ever hear someone say "Eck Cetera"? That is a solecism. The proper pronunciation is "ET CETERA."
Takes all kinds, my friend.
