Sure I would, You should feel flattered that he wants to get to know you and date you without knowing your name. Besides if he asked you out i am sure he knows your name now... So I say go for it. It is better to have dated him than regret it later. You can always break up with him if he turns out to be a jerk.

No, I wouldn't. I would offer to be friends and see if there was any point in dating, but I would not date someone who did not know my name. Why didn't he find out your name first? If you have never talked, to the point where he couldn't have even learned your name, then why would he think he wants to date you? And why on earth would you want to date him? Have some self-respect and date guys who want to date you because they know and like you. If you really like this guy (or think you do) get to know him first.
