I use the first letter of the cuss word. Like F, A, S, D, so on and so forth. When referring to genitals, I say cookie and penis.
I started out with the typical ones, such as fudge instead of the four letter one beginning with the same letter and the same idea with shoot instead of the other s word. As a kid I got sort of creative and began to make up my own phrases that really had no meaning to anyone else except me. My mother used to always say (when she got mad) "oh, your mother wears combat boots" and that was sort of her catch phrase as I never heard anyone else use it.
