What does losing my mind mean?

Question:when you say i am losing my mind, does it mean you are going to lose mind? and when you say i lost my mind,,,whats the diference?

when you say you're losing your mind, it's not yet lost. . . you are about to loose it because of some circumstances. . .

and when you say, you lost you mind, you really lost it. . . as in, it came to the point that it was lost and pooof!!
