murder is planned with intent. Manslaughter is not it just happens
Intent.
Murder is defined as the intentional killing of another human being.
Manslaughter is generally defined as the killing of another human being which is the unintentional consequence of a separate illegal act (such as wreckless driving).
Murder would mean you planned to kill. For example you brought a gun or knife with you. Manslaughter would be killing by accident. For example if you killed someone with your car.
murder is planned and manslaughter is unplanned...so, for example, if you spy on somebody for weeks to see where they are and where you can get them before killing them then its murder but if you are with a friend and somebody unknown tries to attack them with...say..a gun and you kick them in self defence and unfortunately they die...then its manslaughter
ok murder is when you plan it. you say to yourself im going to go out and kill mr smith. this is murder. i think manslaughter is when eg if u have an argument with someone and they hit you but when u hit them back they die. but you didnt mean to kill them.
To be convicted of murder the prosecution have to prove pre meditation and intent eg. arranging to meet someone and then going there with a loaded gun and shooting them dead.
Manslaughter is more of an accident e.g having a fight in a pub and the other guy dying due to a punch you threw.

Murder is when you mean kill someone, like shooting them! manslaughter is when you dont mean to kill some one like running them over in your car accidentally.

Manslaughter is an accident, but not a car accident as some have said on here. That is murder because your car is a lethal weapon and if you are not in control of it and not fit to drive it, it's classed as murder.
