I prefer a glass of wine over a cup of water.
Same right for cats, though they mostly prefer milk!

yaw
it maybe make them to heavy!
i imagine it's uncomfortable to have your fur wet and stuck to your body - especially when you're not used to it. kinda like clothes... i hate going on water rides at amusement parks because i think it's uncomfortable when my clothes stick to me. it's also often a shock to them. they aren't expecting to get wet. and cats absolutely hate surprises.

but not all cats hate water. big cats that live in hot places like tigers and lions love to rest in cool water on a hot day. my friend's indoor house kitty likes to get in the bath or the shower with her.
My cats love water... they sit in the tub with the shower running and they sit on the porch in the rain. Maybe mine are just a little thrown off.
not all cats hate water. in the wild many cats swim and hunt in water.

some domestic cats like water, some don't. it depends a lot on whether they control the circumstances of getting wet, and if they can take their time with getting wet.

they are furry, fussy creatures who spent a huge amount of their time GROOMING themselves, and their saliva contains scent markers. (when they rub their faces against you, they are actually marking you as theirs. :-) perhaps they don't like water because it messes with their markings.
