How can I say ...?

Question:- I want to say that in a project I tried to so something. But I want to say that in a passive voice...I wanted to say it was tried to do ...is that correct?

- Also what can be said instead of 'investigated' and 'studied'?I have used them alot and I want some new words with the same meaning. Which are proper for writing about a survey or an investigation?

Answers:
attempted to show, observed, sought (to uncover), noted, recorded patterns of,
it was tried, it was attempted

surveyed, explored, examined, observed
How about "Researched", "Explored", "Analyzed", "Examined"
Instead of it was tried to do, try, I attempted to, or it was attempted.

Investigated?? How about Researched? Looked into. Surveyed. A consensus was taken.

Hope this helps a little!
You should never be passive in speech giving, or in written documents.
Try, "attempted" for the first part, and "researched" for the second part.
