Did you know that 80% of UCSD students
could not find the error above?

Answers:
I think I know it :]

Well the original way this question was stated was 'Find the error. Its impossible!'

The fact that it said 'Its impossible' other than stating that their grammer is as bad as mine (lol) contradicts that fact that only 80% of the students coudn't find the error. If it really was impossible 100% of the students would not have found the error, and that itself is an error.

Another theory is that the 'error' follows 'find the' :]

Hope this helped!

80% couldn't because there isn't one.
Yeah, the error is that you said that there's an error.
apart from the single digits being in the tens column - no.
error is right after "the" in the opening sentence
The thought is that the numbers 1-9 should be in the "ones" column, not the "tens" column
Well, I am not too sure if this is right but, beginning after the # 9 and starting with 10 it's columned like this:
9
10
11
12
13
14
and so on and so forth
shouldn't it be in a column like this:

09
10
11
12 and so on and so forth.
80 % couldn't find the error, because there IS no error.
1-9 is in the tens column. Should be in the ones column. People gotta pay attention.
O.K. I graduated from UCSD (Revelle College), Class of 19-wouldn't you like to know. The error comes right after the word "find" in your question. I guess I must be one of the 20%.
'the error' comes after 'Find' if it's a trick question.

If not, the error could be in the typing of 'O' instead of '0', or the fact that the single digits are in the tens column.

I think Steph is right, I've been searching the interweb for over a day now and Steph's answer is by far the best one. Go Steph you rock!! I originally found this question on Facebook, so now i don't have to look like an idiot by breaking down and admitting my ignorance, now thanks to Steph I can pretend I'm smart and look all cool by smugly replying with the answer cool and calm.
is the error where you say that there's an error, when there's not? because techinically, there is no error.
