Ok, how many spaces are after a period (.) in a sentence??

Answers:
I was always taught 2 spaces. I've heard that with computers now it should only be 1, but I still prefer two. It looks better and is easier to define the end of a sentence.

Two.
2!
Originally, there were always 2 spaces. Old typewriters used this rule so that you could easily see the spacing.

Today, using computers, always 1 space!
Just one...
Just one.

If you are typing, then leave 2 spaces after the period. Just like this. :)

Depends on what you're doing. Read this article for clarification.
As someone said above, it used to be two on typewriters but one is preferred now. This was addressed in a recent story on slate.com. For me, I prefer the old school two spaces. I think it looks cleaner and is more definitive as to where the sentences end.
If you are submitting a manuscript for possible publication, stick with the "old ways" and use two. If they want only one, a global replacement of two spaces with one space is very easy. If they want two and you've done one, the replacement is not a single find-and-replace.

For other purposes, like a paper, business letter, etc., whatever you prefer is fine. With the most popular fonts for these purposes (Times New Roman), one looks just fine.

2 spaces after a period (.)
1 space after a comma (,)
one, two max, depending on what you are writing.

Two.

You type a sentence ending with a period. Then you hit the space bar twice. The beginning letter starts in the 3rd space after the period.

Hope that helped.
You should have one space . After each sentence to put period ...
The real answer is this.

On a typewriter, the character set is fixed width as opposed to the computer where most fonts are proportional. This means that on a typewriter, the i takes up as much space as the m. To help differentiate between sentences, traditional typing has 2 spaces between sentences.

On computers, since the font is proportional, it's easier to distinguish sentences, so the contemporary method is simply to use one space after a period, although many still place 2 by habit.

HOW MANY SPACES AFTER A PERIOD IN A SENTANCE? TWO SPACES
I'm not exactly sure if it really matters or if its written in stone somewhere that this is the correct way to do but I've always used just one
when typing there are always 2 spaces in between each sentence
