What does it mean when someone "tries to hard"?

Question:The other day a friend of mine said he didnt like a person because they "try to hard" what is that supposed to mean?

Answers:
Someone who tries to be like someone else.
When they overexert themselves in a paticular topic in a ridiculous way.
work to hard and don't get a break and don't pay attention 2 u or him.
They try too much to please others. This, in tern, comes off looking and feeling artificial. If you try too hard to please everyone, they will get turned off by the amount of pressure you are instilling.
They make themselves look ridiculous by trying to please or by impressing someone . Most of the time, it goes unnoticed. That's why it's obvious to your friend, and probably to others how ridiculous they're acting. Typically, if they go unnoticed, they try even harder.
The expression is "tries too hard". this means that the person is over doing, or being overrated something instead of being themselves.
It is 'Tries too hard'. This is when someone goes out of their way to or put a lot into doing something. This is not a bad attribute so I don't see why your friend would not like this person for being this way.
It means that they are not being themself. They are "trying to hard" to fit in, it tends to make them uncomfortable to be around.
When a person tries too hard it basically means that the person was putting too much effort into it going a bit over board or trying too much, and when someone tries too hard, they look desperate and too "forward" making them appear less attractive. I guess thats what happened in your friend's case.
