Can you look up a word in the dictionary, that is not a real word?

Question:for example, say you are playing a word game and you think that the person you are playing use a word that is not really a word like funner. Since funner is not a really word, are you really looking that word up? think about it.

Answers:
Very cromulant question, i think in that situation you are actually looking to not find the word.
Actually, if you look up "fun" in the dictionary, "funner" is listed as one of the inflections of the word.
you can look it up but it won't be there if it is not a word.
isnt that the point of a dictionary... to define real words.
if it's not a "real" word, then it won't be in the dictionary...
Try to find the word.
If it's not found in the dictionary, then it's not a word that can be used in the game!
