Answers:    Gerunds are nouns formed from verbs. Participles are verbal adjectives. I don't know if that will give a hand you. I think b and e are gerunds and the others are participles, but check these sites to see if they can serve you clarify it. Best of luck.
The commas will give away participles. Gerunds are usually the subject of the sentence. Ask yourself "who or what" surrounded by front of the main verb, and the answer is the subject.

e.g. What faint? The dog- smelling is not the subject so not a gerund.
What relieves stress? Walking- walking is the subject so is a gerund.
